A word on interviews
In it's previous incarnation, Bohemia After Dark was essentially a variety show. When I first hit the air in 1997, I had plans. Big plans. Stupendous plans.
And then I came to my senses.
Over the initial run, there were interviews -- actual discussions! Among the subjects I spoke with were authors & poets (Nathan Cabot Hale, normal, Mike Jurkovic, Jeff Bond), musicians (Mark Snow, Tom Lehrer) and luminaries (Joel Dorn, Stan Freberg). Many of these programs were archived poorly and thus, may not be usable again, which peeves me dearly, as I was the yutz doing the saving!
So I ask this fellow citizens -- would you like the added value of interviews along with the music?
Let me know if that's of interest. bohemiaafterdark@gmail.com

A billion apologies...
for the delay.
Those who have enjoyed listening to Bohemia After Dark appreciate the effort. For that I thank you. But when life gets in the way, delaying efforts to get new programs out the door, I understand the frustration this also causes. Many listeners just give up and move on to other programs. A few of you have stuck it out and caught past efforts on Robin Hood Radio. But at a critical point in the year for me, I have a decision to make.
It's getting tougher and tougher for me to set aside the necessary couple of hours to bash out a weekly show, upload it and satisfy my partnership. Marshall Miles, who runs Robin Hood Radio and CATV 6 in Canaan, is a fantastic guy and very patient as well. I don't want to let him down.
For now, expect a new program this weekend. Thanks for your patience.

Make Your Voice Heard! New and Higher Royalty Rates for Music May Shut Many Internet Radio Stations Down
It's a simple fact that nothing is truly free. When I first worked at WKZE back in 1995, I had no clue what the future held for listening to radio online. RealAudio was just getting it's sea legs, and I didn't own a computer. It was just my collection of 1500 CDs, mostly from my years in college radio, keeping me company. As my tenure at KZE came to a end, a paradigm shift was taking place, as the rise of MP3s, P2P and online streams was building to a fever pitch. Twelve years and one set of copyright royalty rates later, everything that has been built up from humble beginnings is in danger of disappearing for good.
Since this past week's decision by the Copyright Royalty Board, my current home, Robin Hood Radio, is one of thousands of independent stations in danger of shutting down due to the financial terms mandated by the new royalty rate structure. Massively popular stations like Radio Paradise, MVYradio, SomaFM, RadioIO and many public, community and independent radio stations streaming their content are in danger of giving up, unless a comprimise is made somewhere, which may not happen unless we make it known that this is not the way for the major label recording industry to recoup their less than stellar expenses from inferior crap.
Follow the links from this page at KCRW and please get informed. I may just be entertaining myself in a few months.
Thanks in advance.
